Deeside Orchestra

After a well-earned summer break, the Deeside Orchestra will be resuming its regular rehearsals on Tuesday, August 28.

Now in its 28th year, the orchestra is made up of about forty enthusiastic amateur players of all ages, from across Aberdeenshire, who meet in the Victory Hall, Aboyne at 7.30pm each Tuesday.

They play three concerts each year – an Autumn afternoon concert of lighter classical pieces, the Viennese Evenings in January and a Summer Concert in June, which this year featured local cellist, Alice Allen.

The orchestra is always keen to welcome new members, and are looking especially for more brass and string players to boost their numbers.

Anyone who plays regularly, or has been meaning to dust off their long neglected instrument for a while, is welcome.
