Village plan consultation
A second public consultation for what is described as “Scotland’s first sustainable village” is being held at the Robert Gordon University’s Schoolhill campus next week.
The Kincluny development on Lower Deeside wants to build over 1,500 “architecturally innovative houses” with prices ranging from £90,000 to £500,000
The Kincluny Development Trust is hosting the public consultation which will be led by Aberdeen-based architects Halliday Fraser Munro and the Robert Gordon University’s Centre for Understanding Sustainable Practice (CUSP), between 12pm and 7pm at the Robert Gordon University’s Schoolhill campus next Friday ( February 24).
Once complete, Kincluny is expected to be the “largest sustainable community” in the country.
The development will also be the largest construction venture to date for CHAP Homes.
At the consultation event, which will form part of a larger exhibition looking at development, members of the public will be able to view the designs and artists impressions of Kincluny and speak with members of the development trust to find out more about the plans for the village.
Bill Burr, managing director at CHAP Homes, said: “The first consultation event was very successful and provided us with invaluable information from the residents of the surrounding villages. We want Kincluny to not only blend into the landscape but also into the existing communities. By engaging with people as early as we can in the process we hope that we do just that.”
John Halliday, chief executive at Halliday Fraser Munro, said: “The design of the development is constantly moving forward and we are excited to have the opportunity to let the public see how the development is progressing and to give them a better idea of what Kincluny will look like.”
The consultation will take place in room AB29/30 in the main administration building of the University’s Schoolhill campus.
