Duke of Rothesay loans paintings for society exhibition

The Upper Deeside Art Society’s annual Ballater exhibition 2012 begins on Saturday, August 25, from 10am to 6pm daily, in the Victoria Hall in Station Square.

This exhibition is very popular with visitors and locals alike and will run until Sunday, September 2.

The members’ work on sale will include framed paintings, wood-turned bowls, leaded glass mirrors, 3D work, mosaic creations, handmade cards and mounted works.

A framed painting, kindly donated by well-known Aboyne artist Alison Ewan, who is also a member of the society, will be raffled during the course of the exhibition to raise funds for staging this annual event.

Everyone is welcome to go along and chat to and meet some of the artists manning the exhibition every day.

Moira MacKenzie, exhibition organiser said: “We have a thriving, friendly society of people with all levels of ability and ages. To find out more about us, visit our own website at: www.udas.org.uk

“In this year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, we are very privileged to have loaned to us two of HRH Prince Charles, the Duke of Rothesay’s watercolours to display at this exhibition and we are delighted by his very generous offer to our society.“
