Lions thankful for donations
Banchory Lions would like to thank all the generous local people who responded to their annual Giving Tree appeal hosted by the local Morrisons store.
Over 150 gifts were donated by members of the public to go to children in the area whose ages ranged from three months to 18 years.
The ages and gender of children (from families who need a little help around Christmas) were given to the Lions by the social work department in Banchory, no other information is given.
The social workers were delighted with the quantity and quality of the gifts which have beeen donated, especially those given for teenagers as they are usually quite difficult to buy for.
The staff from Morrisons also entered into the spirit of the Giving Tree by donating their own gifts, and the Burnett Arms receptionists managed to deal with the huge number of carrier bags which were dropped off at the hotel by members of the public.
Without the thoughtfullness of those who took part in the Lions Giving Tree, many local children would not have received a present this Christmas.
The Lions would also like to thank the Deeside Piper for the part that it has played in making sure that the news about the Giving tree got to so many people. A good result all round!
