Tourism - a plan for 2012

Tourism Businesses in the Deeside and Strathdon area are invited to an open evening on Tuesday, February 21 at 6.00 pm at the Raemoir House Hotel, Banchory.

Organised by Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms, the theme for the evening is Creative Tourism Marketing and there will be a series of special presentations.

2012 is the official Year of Creative Scotland - a year long celebration of Scotland’s rich cultural and creative heritage, which creates numerous opportunities for businesses in the Royal Deeside DMO area to build profitable local partnerships.

Presentations at the meeting will include presentation and question and answer sessions.

Shona Anderson, Regional Director of VisitScotland for Aberdeen City and Shire, will give a presentation about the latest tourism plans and activity for the North-east and how local businesses can take part and benefit.

John Carnie, Tourism Manager for the DMO, will introduce specific plans for the Royal Deeside area and new marketing activity.

A panel of local businesses will take question and answer session and provide case studies of how local business have used creative marketing techniques to find new markets and products.

John Carnie, Tourism Manager, says: “This will be an excellent opportunity for tourism businesses to network with other businesses in the area and find out about and contribute to, joint marketing opportunities.

We are especially pleased to have Shona Anderson from VisitScotland at the meeting.”

A finger buffet will be served from 6.00pm with presentations starting at 6.30pm.
