Deeside Orchestra seeks new members

Local orchestra, The Deeside Orchestra, is looking for new members to join their merry band.

They’re always keen to welcome any new players but are currently short of brass players (trumpet/trombone), oboe and lower strings (cello/double bass).

They describe themselves as a friendly group of amateur musicians from all walks of life, who meet each Tuesday in the Victory Hall, Aboyne at 7.30-10pm to rehearse.

They generally play three concerts each year.

There is no audition needed and their playing standard would suit approximately Grade 5 or above.

Their next concert - which includes Beethoven’s 8th Symphony and Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro Overture - will be held in Aboyne on Friday, June 14, so they feel now is the perfect time for new members to join and get enough practise in.

If you play an instrument, or know of anyone else who might be interested you are asked to contact Richard Clark on 01330 824150 or Lucy Niblock on 01330 850590 for more details or visit the website for more info: www.deeside-orchestra.co.uk
