ECO-FRIENDLY children at a Donside primary school have spent their time making novelty toys and clocks - out of recycled wood and compact discs.
Youngsters from Cluny School, near Sauchen, have been working on the project as part of their Eco Schools and Enterprise Development initiative.
The pupils, who previously made bird boxes out of recycled wood, produced the variety of wooden trains and other toys, plus colourful animal-shaped clocks, under the instruction of relief teacher Alec Malley.
Head teacher Valerie Cooper, said: "It's really a lovely experience for the children as part of their curriculum. They have been working with Mr Malley, who has been coming to us and working with the children for the last two years."
Primary four to seven pupils made the wooden toys from recycled wood, while pupils from primary one upwards produced novelty clocks using various materials including compact discs for the clock face.
As part of the project the children then sell the goods, but having become so attached to their recent creations they have all bought their own products.
The school's pupil council and eco/enterprise committee will now decide how the money raised from the sale of the clocks is to be spent. Ms Cooper said: "Quite often it goes back into buying more wood to make something else."
