AN Alford cadet has returned from taking part in this year's D-Day remembrance parades.

Along with 14 other cadets and four adult volunteers from 2 Highlanders ACF, 17-year-old Cpl Kieran Alderton, a member of the Huntly Cadet Detachment, took part in three parades, including the final parade in June 6th Square in Arromaches.

Cpl Alderton also took part in the parade at Bayeux Cemetery, where he shared some words with the Duke of Rothesay. After the conclusion of the ceremony at Bayeux, the cadets laid a wreath and visited the graves of some of the Gordon Highlanders who lost their lives in the fight for freedom.
