Brewery makes “world’s strongest beer”
A brewery based in Kincardine O’Neil has produced the world’s strongest beer at a whopping 65% ABV.
Brewmeister Brewery began production earlier this year with the Deeside Pale Ale and Dark Lochnagar but decided to become more adventurous by releasing the Brewmeister Armageddon.
The 65% beer will be launched at the Inverness Beer Festival on November 3 where it will sell for five pounds a nip.
Production director John MacKenzie, who runs the brewery, said: “The beer has a viscous quality to it, due to the special freeze fermentation method we use to produce such a high alcoholic beer.”
The beer, which is hoppy and slightly sweet in flavour, is recommended to be served in brandy size measures due to the abnormally high ABV, which John says “delivers a punch”.

Lewis Shand, founder and fellow director, added: “The phrase “delivers a punch” doesn’t quite cut it - delivers a supersonic charged explosion is probably more appropriate!”
The brewery which is set upon the hills of the Kincardine Estate makes a variety of beers which are for sale in Deeside Drinks Emporium and Strachans.
More details of where the beers can be purchased is available on the Brewmeister facebook page.
