LAUNCH OF DEESIDE BEER FESTIVAL

LAUNCH OF DEESIDE BEER FESTIVAL

Deeside Brewery has launched a new Deeside Charity Beer Festival this summer to help local fundraisers reach the £100,000 milestone needed to supply much needed neurological equipment to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI).

The beer festival will take place this weekend (Saturday July 14 and Sunday July 15) at the Potarch Hotel near Banchory, with all proceeds being donated to Ward 40, Neurological Ward at ARI.

Members of the public will have the chance to try free samples of beer donated by Deeside Brewery, Cairngorm Brewery, Orkney Brewery, Thistly Cross Cider, Angus Brewery, Burnside Brewery and Black Isle Brewery whilst enjoying live music and great food from Potarch Hotel.

Deeside Brewery manager, Tim Hieghton-Jackson, said: “This is a great event which offers people the chance to mix sampling fabulous local produce and music, whilst giving to an extremely worthy cause. It will make a fun day out in a beautiful setting.

“This year, the proceeds will be put towards a separate, on-going fundraising campaign by several local groups and companies that hope to raise £100,000 to purchase endoscopic surgery equipment for Ward 40 at ARI.”

Robin Parkinson, who launched the fundraising campaign for Ward 40 last year, said: “The beer festival is one of many fantastic events to help reach our fundraising target. We are delighted that Deeside Brewery has organised such a great weekend and I hope everyone will come along to support our cause.”

Deeside Brewery was established in 2005, and was re-launched in January of this year.
