forestry consultants and managers, RTS Ltd, are opening an office at the Business Centre in Aboyne.
They are in the process of taking over responsibility for the management of some 4,500 hectares of woodland in Deeside and Donside that was previously under the care of Irvine Ross of the Ross Partnership.
The interests of existing RTS clients in Deeside, the Angus Glens, Moray and Speyside, together with expansion of their woodfuel supply business will combine with Irvine Ross’ existing clientele – which includes Michael Bruce’s forest estate at Glen Tanar.
RTS Ltd is a small, rurally based company with a head office in Crieff, providing specialist services on all aspects of woodland management to woodland owners, agents and managers.
Mike Thomson is a forestry graduate of Aberdeen University with recent experience of forestry in Deeside and Strathspey. The team at Aboyne will come under the direction of Harry Wilson MICFor, another Aberdeen University forest graduate with many years experience of north-east Scottish forestry. Irvine Ross will continue within his present role until the end of September.
Alan Robbins, founder and Managing Director of RTSsaid: “Having known and respected Irvine and his forest management skills for over thirty years, I am delighted that he has chosen RTS to build on his achievements and welcome the opportunity to consolidate RTS’ recent growth”.
