Piper editor says farewell

After six years in post, Piper editor Douglas Hill leaves this week to take on a new challenge closer to home in Angus.

Douglas said:”I’ve enjoyed my time at the Piper, including the daily commute over the Cairn O’ Mount road - apart from on some of the rougher winter days - and consider myself fortunate to have worked in a great area such as Deeside and Donside.

The Piper strives to be at the heart of the local community and, despite the many challenges our industry faces in this era of multi platform news, I’m confident the Piper has a bright and exciting future.

Our readers can help to ensure the Piper stays local, first and foremost, so I’d urge you to stay in touch with our reporters Richard Crighton and Jon Hebditch.

Finally, thanks to all of you who helped to make my stay in this part of Aberdeenshire so rewarding.”
