Piper reunites owner with purse

Last week the Piper received a visit from an elderly lady who had lost her purse in one of the shops in Banchory Town Centre - but the purse had no idenfitication inside and the lady said it had not been handed into the police station when she checked.

The lady had £200 in £20 notes in the purse to pay her rent, but she was more concerned about the sentimental value of her Radley purse and was hoping if anyone found the purse, with or without the money inside, they would post it through the door of the Piper office. So we put a small notice in last week’s paper on the situation and stressed that the lady just wanted the acutal purse back. On Thursday Sonia from Davidsons Chemist, Banchory popped into the Piper office to say the lady had left her purse there and after keeping it in their safe overnight they had handed it into the police station. We then contacted the lady who was “absolutely delighted” that our notice meant we were able to trace her missing purse down, with everything still inside and we were of course “absolutely delighted” to be able to help.
