Popular Banchory hotel put up for sale

A popular Deeside hotel has been put up for sale for the first time in 47 years.

The Burnett Arms Hotel, affectionately known as “the Burnett” has been a feature of local hostelry in Banchory for many centuries with its origins in the 18th century as a coaching inn on the Aberdeen to Braemar route.

The Burnett, which is located in the centre of the High Street, has 18 bedrooms, two bars, dining room, function room and meeting rooms cater to a wide cross section of clientele including patronage from the locals and many visitors to the Royal Deeside area.

The Burnett Arms Hotel is being sold by the Melvin Family who have owned and operated the business, directly, since 1965.

Alistair Letham, director with selling agents Colliers International said: “The Burnett has been a feature in the local hostelry market for centuries and it seems that the Melvin family have been there, owning and operating the business, forever.

“This well established business attracts a wide cross section of custom ensuring its continuing popularity.”

He added: “New owners have the comfort that they will be purchasing a well-established and popular hotel.”

Selling agent Colliers International is inviting offers around £1,000,000 for the Best Western Burnett Arms Hotel.
