Rescue week start

A new campaign encouraging people to take on a rescue pet has been launched by the Scottish SPCA as part of its Rehoming Week.

The charity’s Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Drumoak is appealing for new homes for the many animals in its care, with the slogan ‘rescue pets make great pets’.

Rehoming Week, which runs from March 18-24, comes as Taz, an American bulldog, reaches nine months in the Scottish SPCA’s care with no interest.

Centre manager Graeme Innes said, “We have lots of animals just like Taz who are ready and waiting for a loving family to take them home. This year we’ve launched our ‘rescue pets make great pets’ campaign because we know first-hand how rewarding it can be to give an animal a second chance in life.”
