WESTHILL triathlete Lewis Murchie has received a major boost to his sporting ambitions by gaining sponsorship from an Aberdeen leisure and entertainment company.
Enjoy Enterprises, who run the Noose & Monkey pub and Cellar 35 live music lounge in the city, have supplied equipment, kit, clothing, training facilities and coaching expertise for at least the next three years.

Supervisor for Enjoy Enterprises, Jill MacDonald, said: "We are delighted to have seen off some stiff competition to firm up this deal, particularly since it fits perfectly with our philosophy of giving youth a chance to perform, develop and reach their goals.

"We were intrigued to learn that Lewis had shown dedication, commitment and great promise so far in triathlon, yet with only the minimum of kit, fairly modest equipment and, as a novice last year, an understandable lack of experience. But who knows what potential he could realise given the correct level of quality support?"

The bike, a Trek Madone, already carries the brands and logos associated with Enjoy Enterprises and Lewis's personalised tri-suits and wind-jackets were designed by Colin Wilson of Compass Print Holdings Ltd. He has also benefited greatly during the past three months from the bespoke one-to-one coaching programme provided by Ken Bryson of Total Endurance and support from Bert McIntosh of MPH Ltd and many others.

He also represents Fleet Feet Triathletes, Deeside Thistle Cycling Club and Westhill District Amateur Swimming Club.

Rorie Melhuish, manager of the Noose & Monkey, added: "We see this as a very positive association for both parties and, in particular, a great opportunity for Lewis to fulfil his sporting ambitions. His dedication and ability in conjunction with our support provides a powerful combination. It's exciting for our business to be involved in this."
