BANCHORY ST Ternan have applied to upgrade Milton Park at an estimated cost of £25,000.
The club is seeking permission to build new dugouts, a kitchen, toilets and a social room for entertaining match officials and sponsors.
Part of the work has to be completed in order to satisfy Scottish Junior Football Association requirements, such as having dugouts on the same side of the pitch along with having separate male and female toilets.
Committee member Stuart Humble said: "The existing dugouts will be demolished and a new set built on the Dee side, with an area for match officials in between. The SJFA requires dugouts for both teams to be at the same side of the park to allow the referee and assistant referees to officiate more efficiently. Furthermore, the dugouts will be increased in length to accommodate up to seven substitutes and coaching staff. This must be in place before the end of the current season.
"In addition, a new catering facility, office, social area and toilets are planned at the opposite side of the pitch to facilitate spectators, sponsors and officials on match days. It is hoped this sizeable structure will bring a new dimension to Milton Park, with a covered decking area allowing Saints fans a more comfortable match day experience.
"With the continued help of kit sponsor Matthew Merchant Architect, the club have drawn up some ambitious, but exciting plans for the ground. The proposed developments will not only benefit the junior team, but all the other football teams who use the facilities, and give the local football community a venue to shout about."
The club will be raising funds for the upgrade at their Sportsman's Dinner which is taking place on Saturday, March 20 at the Burnett Arms Hotel in Banchory.
The club is returning to the Burnett Arms Hotel after a a two-year spell when the dinner was held at The Milton Restaurant Marque in 2008 and Pittodrie Stadium in 2009.
Having staged the inaugural Banchory St Ternan Sportsman's Dinner in 1998, the Burnett went on to host other big names from Scottish football including Craig Brown, Jim Leishman, Willie Miller and Frank McAvennie.
This year, the 150 guests will be entertained by BBC Scotland's football correspondent Chick Young and the popular after-dinner circuit speaker Bill Copeland.
Chick's football journalism career spans 40 years, during which time he has covered the greatest moments of Scottish and international football. Bill Copeland has been a regular performer on the after dinner circuit for several years. His days as a criminal defence lawyer provide him with plenty of ammunition to keep his audience in stitches.
This year's event will be the club's 12th fundraising dinner, and will also mark the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of football at Milton Park.
