Alford player will be rugby mascot

Alford Youth Rugby Club is delighted to have drawn Gregor Zimmerman as their representative mascot for the Scotland v France match in the RBS 6 Nations at Murrayfield on February 26.

Gregor, a P1 pupil at Cluny Primary School has been playing rugby with Alford for the last year.

He is very excited to be going to his first international and being a mascot will make it even more memorable.

Gregor is particularly looking forward to meeting the players, especially the Aberdonians and his favourite player, Richie Gray.

Scotland started their campaign against England at home last weekend, and despite dominating most of the possession the Scots went down 13-6 to their old rivals.

This weekend, Scotland next game will be away to Wales who are on a good run after a great World Cup campaign and edged a narrow win over Ireland in their opening game of the 6 Nations.

Any P1-P3 kids who would like to join Alford Micros Rugby Club, which is made up of players from throughout Donside, should contact Norman Rae on 019755 64033 for any further details.
