Best of the season, says Scott
BANCHORY St Ternan manager Steve Scott praised his side's attacking display in their 3-1 win over FC Stoneywood.
Andy Courage, Phil Watson and Keith Horne got the goals that kept the Saints in sixth position in the Superleague.
Scott beamed: "It was a very good win. We actually played some of the best football we have played for a very long time. I think the fact we had played Buckie Thistle in a friendly the week before really helped us.
"To win 3-1 didn't flatter us either. We hit the woodwork a couple of times so it could have easily been more. I was absolutely delighted with the performance."
The Saints took the lead in controversial circumstances when a Stoneywood player was adjudged to have handled in the box and Courage clinically dispatched the spot-kick.
Scott admitted he was unsure whether or not it was a penalty.
He said: "I'm going to have to do an Arsene Wenger and say I didn't see it. The away dugouts at Stoneywood are so far away from the other penalty area you need a pair of binoculars to see what's going on. I think it was one of those decisions that you do see given. You are delighted if they go for you but if they go against you then you're raging. We have been on the receiving end of a few decisions like that so I suppose it evens itself out over the course of the season."
Meanwhile, the Saints manager said he has placed his goalkeeper Greg Sim on the transfer list.
Scott explained: "Greg wants away as he has said he isn't enjoying himself. He is one of the best goalkeepers in junior football in my opinion but if he isn't enjoying it then his performances will dip. You don't want to stand in the way of anyone who wants to move elsewhere."
The Saints are on Superleague duty once again this Saturday with a home match against East End.
The Milton Park men will go into the match as favourites but Scott is expecting a hard clash against the side that lost 6-1 to league leaders Sunnybank last weekend.
He added: "People will expect us to win but there will have been harsh words spoken after they lost so heavily to Sunnybank. That will make it more difficult for us as they will be determined to bounce back.
"We will have to be disciplined and make sure we go about our business in the right manner. East End never give you an easy game and they will be smarting so we will need to be up for it on Saturday."
The match kicks off at Milton Park at 2.30pm.
