Culter get no change from 'Bank

SUNNYBANK justified their Superleague title by beating runners-up Culter for the fourth time out of our four meetings this season.

The match was a midfield battle without much goalmouth action but in the 25th minute the game burst into life. Culter gave away a needless free kick 30 yards out which Greig floated into the box for Jim Fettes whose header trundled over the line despite the efforts of McIntosh.

A minute later Fettes should have added a second but fluffed his shot past from close range.

Culter pressed for an equaliser and after some great wing play by Stott the ball broke to Craik whose raging 30 yard strike just scraped the post.

Stott brought out a great save from Sweeney when he got his head onto the end of a Youngson free kick.

Bartlett then tried his luck from distance only to see his powerful shot clear the bar. Just on the half time whistle another great delivery from Youngson found Smith who headed wide.

After the interval Kelly was on hand to boot a Bartlett net-bound shot off the line before the same Sunnybank player shot just wide after being picked out by Gordon.

Youngson then went on a great run with his pass finding Wyness but the striker was denied by a great block by Adams.

Culter went two down in the 73rd minute with William Steel's corner finding Kieran Adams whose powerful header found the back of the net.

Culter hit back, with Smith's looping header just clearing the bar. Greig then had a great chance to finish the game for the 'Bank but with Culter claiming for offside the midfielder blasted the ball over from six yards with McIntosh rooted to his line.

Youngson then tried his luck in injury time with a long range effort that Sweeney held with ease as the Superleague champions comfortably held out for the three points.
