Hill of Banchory United emerged victorious in the Primary 3-5 section at this year’s Lumphanan Gala football tournament, defeating Aboyne Bulldogs in the final 1-0.

Hill of Banchory United player Dylan Duncan was named Player of the final.

Torphins A defeated Hill Of Banchory Thistle on penalties in the final of the Primary 6-7 section, after a 0-0 draw in normal time. Player of the final was Torphins’ goalkeeper Scott Bruce, after a great display in the shootout.

The tournament was a great success again this year, mainly due to the good natured way that the matches were played and the great support from all the spectators.

The small army of volunteers who help organise and run the event made sure it ran like clock work and could be enjoyed by all.

Over £1000 was raised on the day and this will make sure that the Young Lumphanan Footballers will be able to continue running for another year.

The committee also decided to donate £500 towards the Lumphanan School Playground fund due to the success of this year’s tournament.
