Important time for Stags side

Banchory Stags have important matches coming up that could see them through to the final of the Grampian Cup and the semi-final of the Scottish Chairman’s Cup in the next two weeks, meanwhile their youngsters continue to do well.

Banchory Bulls basketball team confirmed their position as the strongest junior team in Grampian by winning the annual invitation tournament at Portlethen. The team are also unbeaten in the league so far this season.

It was a great team effort as the Banchory Bulls (pictured above) beat all the other teams in the tournament. Having beaten teams from Beacon and the International School, the final game was against the hosts Portlethen Panthers. It was a very closely contested game and it was left to captain Christophersen to score the decisive basket: a last minute 3 pointer to win the game by a single point.
