Strong showing from girls at beginners competition

Banchory Gymnastics Club took part in the Aberdeenshire Beginners Gymnastics competition last week.

The 12+ team of Megan Ricketts, Gwynneth Tucker, Victoria Burnett and Issey Urquhart came 6th.

The 10/11 team of Carlyn Kennington, Pacha Ball, Hannah Cooke and Emma Sibson came 4th. Pacha also came 4th on floor and 4th overall.

The 8/9 A team of Josie McGarvey, Evie Falvey, Isla Reid and Kate Hare won Silver medals. Josie also won silver on floor and was 4th overall.

The 8/9 B team of Rhona Bowie, Kate Strachan, Kaili Zeigler and Bronia Elrick came 5th. Bronia also came 5th on vault.

A number of gymnasts also made their first appearance at the event.
