Trip to Queens for Christine

A CO-ORDINATOR at Aboyne Tennis Club, served off stiff competition to win the chance to meet Andy Murray's Mum, Judy.

The club's junior co-ordinator Christine Fyfe, was entered into the 'Judy's Treat a Mum Competition' by her son Alexander.

Organised by the Lawn Tennis Association's (LTA) Christine was among four winners selected from 200 entries, by Judy Murray herself.

Lucky Christine also met top tennis stars Novak Djokovic, Amelie Mauresmo and Scotland's Jamie Murray on her exciting trip to the Queen's club.

All the mums who were entered spend a great deal of time supporting their own children and other juniors playing tennis.

Christine is no exception, having spent hundreds of hours over the last four years running junior tennis at Aboyne Tennis Club, supported by various club members and LTA coaches.

As a result, tennis is thriving in Aboyne with more than 50 juniors actively playing. Christine's prize was to spend a morning in June at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton meeting dieticians, conditioning coaches and receiving an hour's coaching from famous tennis mum Judy Murray.

The winners then watched the men's semi-finals at Queens Club.

As well as seeing some great tennis, a highlight of the day was tea in the players' lounge, where the ladies bumped into various tennis stars.

The tennis club said Christine's win was well deserved.
