Fairtrade Fortnight runs from February 23 to March 8, and to support this, Glenmuick Church in Ballater will be having a Fairtrade Coffee morning in the church hall on Saturday February 28 from 10.30am to 12 noon. Profits will be donated to Tearfund’s Boreholes in Zambia project.
HOWE TRINITY CHURCH, ALFORD
Howe Trinity Church, Alford, will be holding a Taizé Service on Sunday, March 1, at 7pm.
Taizé is an ecumenical Christian community founded by Brother Roger Schutz after the Second World War to promote reconciliation in a shattered Europe. In the present day, many thousands of young people from across the continent flock to its centre in rural France each year to work, study and worship together.
The worship of Taizé is characterised by a distinctive style of worship which is simple, peaceful and reflective. Howe Trinity has offered a number of Taizé services over the years, and will be pleased to welcome visitors as well as local church members to this special event.
ST DEVENICK’S, BIELDSIDE
St Devenick’s Episcopal Church in Bieldside will be holding an afternoon service for the World Day of Prayer 2015 next Friday, March 6, at 2.30pm. The service has been written by Christian women of the Bahamas and is entitled “Jesus said to them ‘Do you know what I have done to you?’”
FORGIVENESS AT BANCHORY WEST CHURCH
Prof D. Robin Taylor (formerly professor of medicine at University of Otago Dunedin, New Zealand, and pastor for young adults at Dunedin City Baptist Church), now consultant in respiratory medicine at Wishaw General Hospital and lecturer in End of Life Care, has taught for many years about Forgiveness as a route to physical and mental well being.
He will give a talk entitled FORGIVENESS: Getting the Monkey off your Back: The Power of Forgiveness for Physical and Mental Health at Banchory West Church on Sunday, March 15, at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served from 7pm.

MID DEESIDE CHURCH
This Sunday, March 1 at 11am, worship in Mid Deeside Church Torphins will be led by Reader, Mr John Murdoch. All welcome to the service and to stay for refreshments afterwards.
On Friday March 6 at 7pm, the annual ecumenical World Day of Prayer Service will be held in Mid Deeside Church. The Service this year has been written by Christian women of the Bahamas.
As part of the work on the renovation of the sanctuary the church pews are being removed and replaced by chairs. The pews which are made from Honduran pine are available for sale at £150 for the 3.33m long two-ended pews, and £120 for the 2.45m long single-ended side pews. BRAEMAR AND CRATHIE PARISH
The winter schedule continues in the Parish of Braemar and Crathie this week with a joint service in Crathie Kirk at 11.30 am. on Sunday 1st March. There will be no service in Braemar.
