Bucking the recent trend for business down-turns in the village of Peterculter, a new florists on the main street has seen a rapid growth in business since opening in September last year.

X0X0 Floral Boutique, owned by mother and son Dona and Andrew Gibbon, has been doing so well that they have been shortlisted as finalists in The Elevator Awards in the Most Promising New Business category.

We’re incredibly proud of our business.

X0X0 set up originally with the aim of “bringing unique and creative designer floristry” to Aberdeen.

Since then it has launched the X0X0 Floristry School, plus X0X0 @ Home and has seen sales continuing to oustrip projections month after month.

The next stage of the business, a classic and rare car hire service, will launch later this month and will offer wedding and private car hire services, which will see the introduction of several rare chauffeur-driven cars including a Beauford, Bramwith, and a Rolls Royce.

Director Andrew Gibbon said: “We’ve worked incredibly hard to launch X0X0 Floral Boutique (and) we’re now able to begin diversifying and introduce new revenue streams to ensure the growth we’re currently experiencing continues beyond our first birthday.”

Dona Gibbon, director and florist added: “ We’re incredibly proud of our business as well as the products we offer and gaining recognition for all the hard work is fantastic.”
