Communit council elections to be held at AGM in Torphins

Torphins Community Council is calling on residents to stand for election at their AGM with nominations closing on February 5.

Do you have views on how Torphins and the surrounding area should look?

Do you have skills and advice you can give to projects in the community?

Could you spare a few hours a month to be a member of Torphins Community Council?

Your community council needs you!

Chair of Torphins Community Council, Rosemary Bruce said: “Torphins Community Council is central to life in Torphins and the surrounding area.

“We look at planning applications and comment on proposals from Aberdeenshire Council and the Health Board, discuss police issues, transport and local roads and other local concerns.

“Torphins community council also organises the annual Christmas Carols around the tree and can be approached for financial assistance for local groups

“The deadline for nominations is Thursday February 5 at 5pm.”

The AGM will take place at 7pm on February 5 and residents of Torphins, Sundayswells, Glassel and Tornaveen are encouraged to stand for election.
