Two local firms have recently made donations to sponsor the Banchory Scout Group’s Fun Run in Strachan this Saturday, which is aiming to raise funds for their upcoming trip to Canada.
The Sandlaw Farming Company generously donated £500 to act as the main sponsor for the event, and Monkey Business Aboyne donated £150 for medals and prizes.
Fancy dress is encouraged, and the theme this year will be ‘Animals, Vegetables, or Minerals’, so whether you choose to run dressed as a chicken, a carrot, or a twinking star, you’re sure for a great day out.
Confirmation of registration is from 1pm onwards, and races start at 1:30pm.
A family BBQ and activities will be on throughout the afternoon, which will take place at the Knockburn Loch in Strachan.
All funds will go towards the group’s 2016 expedition to Canada.
There’s a £5 entry fee for adults and children over five (under-fives go free). Register online for the event at: http://banchoryscoutsfunrun.eventbrite.co.uk.
