The proceeds from this years Summer Marquee Ball were handed over to two local charities at Raemoir House Hotel last month.
Hailed as Deeside’s Top Social event, the Summer ball will go into it’s 19th year next year, and has raised just under £400,000 for local charities since it began back in 1998 on a smaller scale.
This year, the beneficiaries were Riding for the Disabled (Deeside Branch), and the Friends of Bellfield Care Home.
Joint organiser Logan Sangster said: “Although this year, we found that due to the economic climate in the Oil and Gas world, we did struggle to get out normal sponsorship support.
“But thankfully, the two teams from RDA and FOB rallied round, and with the help of our fabulous local community, we managed to hand over £26,500 from this year’s event, which we are extremely pleased with”
The funds were raised by means of a Grand Raffle , Fine Auction, a Summer Marquee Ball programme, and some party games on the night. The Ball was sold out again this year, and there is now a waiting list for the 2016 Summer Ball, again at Raemoir House Hotel on Saturday, June 18.
The organisers, Logan Sangster and Dawn Law, have just received an invite to the Friends of Anchor Lunch next week ( FOA were the 2014 Beneficiaries) and the letter stated that the Donatation from the Summer Ball in 2014 was the largest they had received from all the outside fund-raising events that were staged on their behalf.
