The roads around Deeside have claimed their second life in as many weeks following a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
A fatal RTC on the road between the B976 (South Deeside Road) and the B974 Cairn O’Mount took place on Saturday June 20, in the early afternoon.
The man who died was 44 year old Brechin motorcyclist Francis George MacDonald, known as Frank.
Mr MacDonald was killed after his blue Suzuki GSXR motorcycle collided with a grey Toyota Hilux car.
The driver of the large all terrain Toyota was uninjured.
A Police Spokesperson said: “ “Frank’s family are understandably upset by the sudden loss of their much loved son, brother and father of three and have said that he will be greatly missed. They do not wish to make any further comments and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
“Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
The death comes in the height of ‘Motorcycle season’ during which Police Scotland annually carry out ‘Operation Zenith’.
Launched in 2010 Operation Zenith was established with the goal of reducing casualties of motorcyclists by 15% by 2015.
