Deeside got back to winning ways with a 36-3 win over bottom side Stornoway.
The match was a league and cup double header which means the Banchory side will no play Aberdeen University in the final at a neutral, local venue.
Should they win they would then advance into the Play-Offs s with the other regional winners.
A win in the Play-Offs would see them advance to the grand final at Murrayfield.
Club President Ian Finlayson said: “It was a good win on Saturday, with a scrappy first half where we did not convert the chances that we had and went in at half-time 14-3, but fitness told in the end and ran in a lot of tries in the second half to end up 36-3.
“Having spent a long time travelling on Saturday morning it was encouraging to see the boys come out and put on a good performance for a big Stornoway crowd.
“We just need to repeat it this weekend at home vs Garioch.”
Garioch remain the main challengers to Deeside’s league title hopes, but a win on Saturday would open up a gap and make the trophy Deeside’s to lose.
