Banchory-born professional snowboarder Ben Kilner is recovering following a fall during training which resulted in a broken pelvis.
The Winter Olympian ended up with a fractured pelvis and back injury while out on the slopes.
Deesider Ben posted a message to his followers on Twitter to reassure them he would be back in action again soon: “Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes. I’ll be out in six to eight weeks.
‘‘Headed home to hopefully get surgery and get back out on snow asap!”
Ben became a well known sports personality on Deeside after representing Team GB in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.
He represented Britain in the Men’s Half-pipe at Sochi last year, finishing 16th in the qualifications rounds.
Wellwishers got in touch with the sportsman via Twitter to pass on their best.
Banchory’s Raemoir House Hotel tweeted: “@benkilner Best Wishes Ben, hope they’re looking after you!”
