Logan Sangster of the SMB comittee said: “Nick and wife Jill (Lord Provost of Aberdeenshire) have been strong supporters of the Summer Ball for many years and we really do appreciate their generosity -we simply could not carry on without the loyal support from our community.”

‘‘The event, to be held at Raemoir House Hotel on Saturday, June 7, will be the 17th summer ball to date.

‘‘It has grown over the years, raising more than £300k for local charities since beginning. The organisations that have benefited from the proceeds of the Summer ball are Bandswim, King George V Project, The Archie Foundation, K&D Voice, Youth 200 Project, Crossroads, Forget Me Not Club, MacMillan Cancer Support, Friends of the special Nursery, Clic Sargent, Friends of Glen O’ Dee Hospital, SCHILL, Altzheimer Scotland, Children 1st, Friends of the Scolty Centre, Homestart Deeside, Gastrocan, Kincardine & Deeside Befriending and Carronhill School.’’

‘‘This year, the beneficiaries are to be Friends of Anchor, with whom we are delighted to be working.

‘‘ This year’s ball is once again, a sell out event and the committee continue their tradition of hard work with plans already beginning to take place for the 2015 event.

‘‘The 360 guests will be greeted on the lawn of the Raemoir House Hotel by piper, and after arrival drinks, they will be ushered into he House Marquee for dinner, dancing and as tradition dictates, some party games. The committee won’t give every thing away but say they have one or two changes to this years format up their sleeves.’’
