Banchory’s Douglas Arms Hotel launched its new look last week with a charity event in support of VSA’s Linn Moor Campus.

Over 60 people fromlocal charity VSA attended the re-opening dinner on Wednesday, March 18.

A spokesperson for VSA said: “We were delighted that the Douglas Arms Hotel decided to use their soft opening of the beautifully refurbished and furnished hotel to support the school.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the owners, Scott Hutcheon, Steve Ross, Kirsty Ross and Gordon Hutcheon.”

The Linn Moor Campus, based in Peterculter, supports young people aged between 18 and 26 with autism and complex additional support needs, by empowering them with valuable life, academic and vocational skills.

Linn Moor depends largely on voluntary income to continue enhancing the lives of the local community’s most vulnerable young people.

One of the owners of the hotel, Kirsty Ross, said: “The Douglas Arms were proud to team up with Linn Moor School and VSA to host a charity fundraising event to mark the launch of our newly refurbished restaurant.

“Regulars and friends were invited to the soft opening on March 18 with proceeds of £2250 being donated to the school.

“The refurbishment took two months to complete but was well worth the wait and has been very well received by our customers.”

As well as the contemporary new design, the hotel has introduced a new menu, which is available daily from 12-2.30pm and 5-9pm.
